Hi Lunch Buddies!

Welcome to the newly redesigned #SEOForLunch newsletter! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

On another note, happy belated Fathers Day to those subscribers who have children or play a very important father figure role in someone’s life.

My kids surprised me with a family camping trip over the weekend. I’ve been wanting to take them for years and we finally picked up the missing pieces and made it happen. As you’ll see below, I can’t imagine life getting much better than a nice fire, a can of beer, and of course SEO learning materials.

Interested in this link building book? Keep an eye out as I’ll be giving away several copies in an upcoming newsletter! Details to come shortly.

Let’s jump into this week’s #SEOForLunch issue.

Article: Is there a Google Algorithm Update Happening Right Now?

What’s Important:
Barry Schwartz is reporting a lot of discussions happening in the industry regarding swings in organic search performance. This is often indicative of an algorithm update taking place. Google, however, has not verified this update.

Nick’s Take:
It’s not uncommon that Google won’t comment on their algorithm updates. However, many third-party tools such as Rank Ranger, Moz, and Algoroo have tools that measure the shift in rankings in various verticals. When their reporting shows significant swings in rankings it typically coincides with algorithm updates. Have you been seeing significant swings in your organic traffic/rankings recently?
