Hey, lunch buddies. I’m sitting in the airport on my way to Kentucky writing this weeks newsletter. What’s better than a morning cocktail, a hearty breakfast, and the #SEOForLunch? Not much if you ask me!
Last Thursday, a bunch of local search people got together for some drinks and wings. It all came about from a newsletter reader reaching out and letting me know he was going to be in town. Naturally, we had to get a group together to chat shop. It was great to meet you, Kyle! If anyone is ever in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area please let me know. It’s always a fun time meeting up with people in the industry.
Finally, an apology to Griffin Roer who I highlighted his guide to Screaming Frog custom extraction last week but spelled his name wrong. Sorry, Griffin!

What You Need To Know
Danny Sullivan, Google Search Liaison, announced on Twitter that a broad core algorithm update was launched during the week of 3/13.
Many in the industry have shown data supporting a “recovery” from the August 1st, 2018 core update. In most instances the performance increase in Google organic traffic was significant. If you haven’t already checked your analytics/Google Search Console you should see if you were impacted by this core algorithm update.
